Mid Feb Vegan update
The vegan diet has been going well for Amanda and I. I have kept the eggs in my diet but cutting the dairy products has been nothing but convincing for me to continue this habit. One of the fun things we did for Valentine's weekend was make our own sushi. It gave us new appreciation for our sushi chef, it's been a while since I've made sushi so it was like a brand new experience. Follow this for photos.

February Vegan Month (for Amanda)
Hey all,
Hope your new year has been animal friendly so far. Amanda has decided to go vegan for the month of February. I am 100% supportive of her challange and aside from my beloved organic free range eggs, I am planning to follow her footsteps this month. Will update you on how it goes and hopefully be able to start blogging some recipes from my vault (another word for my mushy brain). We will be doing another 5-day raw streak during this month and will take some photos of what dishes we come across to share with you guys.

Food Inc...
Watching Food Inc for the first time, highly encourage everyone to check it out. Let's all start living smarter and think at least once before we put what we call food into our bodies. Living well doesn't end with humans, all animals deserve to live well too (needless to say die well). Stop relying on medicine to get well after the fact and let's start being well, living well and eating well. Even if you do eat meat, eat ethically. Go organic, go free range or at least try. Know your food and where it came from.Thursday, October 1, 2009
Amanda's Veggie Intro...
Well it’s been over a full year now, being a Vegetarian and life couldn’t be better. Although weight loss hasn’t occurred (that’s a totally separate topic) my health is the best it has been in a long time. The specific changes that have occurred are: my skin is much clearer and healthier looking, my iron levels which used to be so low I was at risk of heart problems are now the highest they have ever been and my mental state is extremely positive compared to one year ago.
Many sacrifices have been made to be vegetarian, family and friends have stared at me confused as to why I have chosen this way of eating and the learning and experiences have only begun.
Reasons I have decided to be a Vegetarian? First and foremost HEALTH, secondly because I do not believe in eating something that has been KILLED for the purpose of EATING and thirdly because I CAN.
This blog will be a diary of my experiences being a vegetarian, new exciting restaurants to eat at, research I have done that will be helpful for all those out there that are interested in taking on the Vegetarian CHALLENGE!
For all of you out there that are already Veggies – YOU ROCK!
